DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS & COORDINATOR OF VOLUNTEERS – Full Time or Part Time
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree. Training and experience in public relations and/or communications.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and to work with others.
Ability to use computer software, including media design programs and social media.
Excellent writing skills including ability to edit documents for public release to eliminate error; and to ensure readability, proper grammar/sentence structure and appropriateness of content.
Able to establish rapport with diverse individuals.
Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and a fully insured, personal vehicle for agency use. Must maintain a good driving record. Must demonstrate continuous satisfactory job performance. Must have a record of reliable work attendance.
Must be able to meet all requirements and obtain all certificates required to perform the job or any aspect of the job and to access funding for performance of any aspect of the job.
Preferred:
Supervisory experience.
Successful work experience with volunteer management.
Experience with website management.
Experience within the Developmental Disabilities (DD) System.
Past responsibility for media relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain a good rapport with local media, and systematically solicit positive and frequent coverage of Murray Ridge by local media.
Prepare 60-second public service announcements for broadcast on local radio stations.
Prepare monthly and quarterly newsletters.
Compile/synthesize strategic plans and strategic plan progress reports.
Implement, monitor and enforce agency volunteer protocols. Work with agency departments to determine volunteer needs; recruit, screen, and assign volunteers, as needed.
Manage and continuously update agency brochures and agency website. Manage social media.
Supervise Secretary-Administration.
HOURS:
Full time – 40 hours/week – OR –
Part time – 24 hours/week
SALARY:
Level 7 (Management contract)
